Upgrade your roof. Lower your energy use.

Why Choose Low-E ThermaSheet?

When you re-roof, the part you can’t see is just as important as the part you can. Low-E ThermaSheet is a premium insulated underlayment that turns your roof into an energy-saving system, not just a weather shield.

How Low-E ThermaSheet Helps Your Home

  • Reflects radiant heat
The reflective “Low-E” surface helps bounce a large portion of the sun’s radiant heat away from your roof deck, reducing heat gain into your attic.

  • Creates a thermal break
A thin layer of closed-cell foam separates the hot roof surface from the structure below, helping your home stay more comfortable and reducing the strain on your AC.

  • Moisture & weather protection
ThermaSheet acts as a durable secondary water barrier under your roofing, helping protect the deck from wind-driven rain and minor leaks.

  • Works with many roof types
Suitable for use under asphalt shingles, tile, metal, and other common roofing systems, so you get flexibility without compromising performance.

  • Lightweight & strong
Easy to handle, install, and cut, which helps keep labor efficient while giving you a long-lasting, high-quality underlayment.

Benefits for Arizona Homeowners

  • Helps keep attic and living spaces cooler in extreme heat

  • Can contribute to lower cooling costs over time

  • Improves overall roof performance compared to basic felt or standard synthetics

  • Ideal for full roof replacements when you plan to stay in the home and want more than “minimum code”

How We Use It

On qualifying roof replacement projects, we can upgrade your underlayment to Low-E ThermaSheet as part of an energy-efficient roofing package. This upgrade is installed beneath your final roofing system and works silently in the background—protecting your home and helping improve comfort year-round.

Ask us about a Low-E ThermaSheet upgrade on your roof estimate and we’ll show you the cost difference and expected benefits for your home.

How You Win With Thermasheet

“Low-E ThermaSheet doesn’t just help with comfort – it may also qualify as an insulation product for a federal energy tax credit, which can refund 30% of the product cost, up to $1,200, if your home and project meet IRS rules. Talk to your tax professional about claiming it.”

1. How the federal tax credit works

Currently, the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (IRS §25C) allows homeowners to claim a federal income tax credit for certain upgrades, including insulation and air-sealing materials designed to reduce heat loss or gain.

Key points that matter for Low-E ThermaSheet:

  • Credit amount:
Typically 30% of the qualifying product cost, up to $1,200 per year for “building envelope” items like insulation, windows, doors, etc.

    • This is a credit, not a deduction – it directly reduces tax owed, dollar-for-dollar (subject to IRS rules).

  • What counts as “insulation” for the credit:
The tax code defines a qualifying “building envelope component” to include any insulation material or system… specifically and primarily designed to reduce the heat loss or gain of a dwelling unit.

  • What usually qualifies on the invoice:

    • Product/material cost only for insulation and air-sealing – not the labor to install it.

    • Other items on the same roofing job (shingles, tile, sheathing, demo, etc.) generally do not count toward the insulation credit.

  • Home & project requirements (typical IRS/Energy Star rules):

    • Existing home in the U.S. (not new construction).

    • Primary residence owned and lived in by the taxpayer (not a rental or second home).

    • Product must meet current IECC energy code standards for insulation/air-sealing in effect for the relevant year.

  • How they actually get the money:

    • Homeowner files IRS Form 5695 – Residential Energy Credits with their tax return for the year the work was completed and placed in service.

There is currently a federal credit available for qualifying insulation upgrades; the exact rules and expiration dates can change, so homeowners should verify the current rules with their tax professional or the IRS when they file.
